New London, Conn. – Freshman Haley Andrews (Prospect, Conn.) and sophomore Samantha Valentine (East Burke, Vt.) scored two goals apiece as the Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team defeated Mitchell College, 9-0, Wednesday evening in non-conference action at Alumni Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Freshman Jaidyn Gillette (Putnam, Conn.) got things started for the Falcons scoring the first goal of the game at the 10th minute before back-to-back goals from Valentine put the visitors up three, 3-0.
With less than a minute to go in the first, Jordan Kikosicki (East Haven, Conn.) would score the final goal of the half after receiving a nice feed from Erin Daly (Seymour, Conn.) to give Albertus the four-goal edge, 4-0.
Albertus continued to dominate on offense as the Falcons went on to score five more goals to put the game away 9-0. Andrews kicked off the second half with back-to-back goals at the 48th and 56th minute making the score 6-0. Two minutes later, senior Kerrigan Loughman (Trumbull, Conn.) would find the back of the net for her first of the year while Alycia Morales (West Haven, Conn.) and Daly scored the final two goals of regulation.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Falcons outshot the Mariners, 45-2, including a team-high 12 shots from Gillette.
- Albertus also won the battle in corner kicks, 5-0.
- Mitchell posted one shot on goal compared to Albertus who had 23.
- On Andrews second goal, Gillette picked up the Falcons' second assist.
