HOW IT HAPPENED
Albertus stormed out of the gate early as Raposo led the Falcons in an offensive onslaught. Over the space of the first three minutes, the Falcons ripped off three unanswered shots, with Raposo contributing two of them, but CCNY goalie Maria Tomais denied them a score. The Falcon offense was not deterred, however, firing the ball over to Raposo again in the seventh minute, when she promptly lasered it into the back corner of the net past Tomais for the game's first goal.

The Falcons continued to press their advantage, ripping off five more shots over the next 17 minutes. Raposo, Aimee Diverniero (East Haven, Conn.), Erina Ismaili (Middlebury, Conn.), Amanda McGeehan (Milford, Conn.), and Jordan Kikosicki (East Haven, Conn.) took shots against Tomais in the stretch.

Haley Andrews (Prospect, Conn.) joined the shot parade at the 36th-minute, rocketing the ball just outside the net. Then, a minute-and-a-half later, the Falcons struck gold. Coming off the bench, Isabella Antonucci (Orange, Conn.) found herself with the ball and dribbled it just over midfield before uncorking a monstrous kick that sent the ball whizzing over Tomais and into the back of the net for the Falcon's second score of the game.

Moments later, with the Falcons on the offensive yet again, Jaidyn Gillette (Putnam, Conn.) swooped up the field and fired a perfect strike to Amanda McGeehan (Milford, Conn.), who promptly kicked it into the net for the third goal of the game. The two teams went into the halftime break with the Falcons holding a 3-0 advantage.

The Falcons continued to press their advantage, ripping off 10 unanswered shots over the next 23 minutes of play. With the clock ticking down to its final 10 minutes, the Falcons continued to attack. Antonucci and Shaw both fired shots in the 80th-minute but were denied by Tomais. The Beavers attempted to answer the Falcons with a shot of their own, but Mecca squashed any hopes of a score, smothering the attempt by the Beavers' Charlotte Foberg.

With the clock down to its final five minutes, the Falcons subbed in sophomore goalkeeper Nicole Pracon (Derby, Conn.) before firing off a pair of corner kicks and another shot. Still, they could not squeeze another one past the Beavers' goaltenders, and the match ended in a 3-0 Falcon victory.
