HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons bursted out of the gates early, peppering Chargers' keeper Alexis Lebretron with shots over the first 15 minutes of play. Both Andrews and Erina Ismaili (Middlebury, Conn.) recorded a pair of attempts in the opening minutes, but Lebretron snared all four.

The Chargers took control of the ball from there, rifling a shot at Falcons' keeper Katherine Raposo (Warwick, R.I) that was blocked. The Falcons recorded another three shots over the next 15 minutes, one each from Ianniello, Victoria Jainchill (Simsbury, Conn.), and Andrews, but Lebretron continued to deny the hosts a score.

In the 38th-minute, with the Falcons threatening, Keegan Riccio (West Haven, Conn.) launched a shot that just missed sailing into the back of the net, striking the crossbar and bounding back in play. The Falcons recovered, and inside of 20 seconds, Andrews fired a rocket at the Chargers' keeper, but the shot sailed just wide of goal, and the score remained deadlocked at zero, heading into the final seven minutes of the first half.

The Chargers rattled off one shot in the remainder of the half, a missile from Breanna Humphrey that Raposo was able to snag to preserve the 0-0 tie. Despite a corner kick from Riccio and a pair of shots from Andrews, the Falcons were unable to push across the match's first score, and the half ended tied at 0-0.

Four minutes into the second half, Ianniello struck again, and she didn't miss this time. With Riccio tearing up the field with the ball, Ianniello got into the perfect position and drilled the pass from Riccio into the corner of the net for the first goal of the match.

In the 71st minute, with the Falcons still holding a 1-0 advantage, the Chargers were whistled for a penalty that resulted in an Albertus penalty kick. Raposo came out of goal to take the attempt, but the shot was saved again by Lebretron, and the Falcons remained on top, 1-0.

With the clock down to its final three minutes, Andrews was tripped on a shot attempt and awarded the Falcons' second penalty kick of the game. The senior forward didn't disappoint, firing a bullet past Lebretron and into the net to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead with 2:45 remaining.

Despite a pair of shots from the Chargers, Raposo didn't waver in the game's final moments, holding the visitors at bay and helping Albertus to their third straight victory and their fifth conference win of the season.
