Women’s Soccer Suffers 2-0 Setback in GNAC Opener

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team lost a tightly-contested matchup to the Pride of Regis (Mass.) College on Saturday afternoon at Celentano Field, falling by a final score of 2-0. Today's game was the first in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play for the Falcons in 2022.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The teams traded shots for the first 20 minutes, with neither squad able to net the go-ahead goal.
• Regis' Sara Costa put the first tally on the board in the 23rd minute, sending a pass from Hailey Lowell through the uprights to give the Pride a 1-0 advantage.
• Emma Nunnemacher added to the Pride's lead in the 79th minute on an assist from Samantha Perkins.
• Freshman keeper Amy Stevens (Lincoln, R.I.) did her best to keep the bout close, making a season-high six saves in a complete-game effort.
• Offensively, Keegan Riccio (West Haven, Conn.) led AMC with two shots on goal.
