BOX SCORE

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Lasers burst out of the gate to start the match, ripping off three shots in the first 18 minutes, but could not sneak one past Stevens in the net.
  • The Falcons quickly responded as Erina Ismaili (Middlebury, Conn.), Tyler Stocking (Middletown, Conn.), Amanda McGeehan (Milford, Conn.), and Haley Andrews (Prospect, Conn.) fired off four consecutive shots over the next 10 minutes. Still, Lasers' keeper Kyli Swann denied the Falcons the score.
  • The teams continued to battle for the next few minutes before the Lasers took control of the ball. Brynn Foster sent a pass through the box to Evelyn DiFiore, who missiled the pass by the fingertips of Stevens for the first score of the match.
  • Albertus finished the half hot, as Ashley Shaw (Milford, Conn.), Stocking, and Rosikiewicz each took aim for the net, but the Falcons could not tie the score, and the half ended with the Lasers holding the 1-0 lead.
  • The Falcons erupted right out of the gate to start the second half, as Rosikiewicz took control of the ball out of the scrum and found Kikosicki waiting near the net. The fifth-year senior didn't hold back, sending a beam into the back of the net to knot the score at 1-all two minutes into the second half.
  • The teams traded unsuccessful shots until the 81st minute when Lasell's Sarah Lynch took a pass from Evelyn DiFiore and fired it into the bottom-right corner of the net to give the Lasers the 2-1 lead.
  • Albertus had a great chance to tie the match in the 89th minute, when Keegan Riccio (West Haven, Conn.) took a free kick from outside the box that just found the bottom of the crossbar and bounced away from the crease.
  • Unfortunately for AMC, the Lasers held the Falcons off to secure a 2-1 victory.
