HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Five minutes into regulation, Montesanto got the Falcons on the board as the midfielder scored her second goal of the season, giving the visitors the early 1-0 advantage.
  • A foul inside the box forced a free kick for Andrews, whose shot was turned away by a Norwich defender, but Montesanto was there to find the loose ball and put it in the upper right corner of the net.
  • Three minutes later, Albertus' offense struck again as Ejalam Bravo (New Britain, Conn.) outplayed both a Norwich defender and the goalkeeper before finding the feet of Andrews, who slid the ball into the empty net for her sixth of the season.
  • Norwich saw its two-goal deficit turn to a three-goal deficit, 3-0, in the 21st minute as Andrews netted her second of the game after going one-on-one with the keeper following the long ball from Riccio.
  • Following a foul by the Cadets with 4:01 remaining in the first, Riccio launched the ball from 25 yards out, which grazed the fingertips of the Cadets' keeper and into the upper left corner of the net, increasing the Falcons' lead to 4-0.
  • With less than a minute to go in the first, Norwich netted its first goal of the game from Bella Roy and cut the deficit at halftime to three, 4-1.
  • It was a defensive battle in the second half as both teams could not find the back of the net despite rallying off four shots each.
  • Riccio paced the Falcons offense in the second with three shots attempts, including two shots on goal and one shot hitting the post in the 77th minute.
