Postseason Begins 

The Albertus Magnus women's soccer team earned the sixth seed in the upcoming 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Soccer Tournament that is scheduled to begin on Saturday, Oct. 29th. 

The Falcons will travel to Boston, Mass., on Saturday to battle the third-seeded Saints of Emmanuel (Mass.) College at Roberto Clemente Field. Saturday's 2 p.m. showdown will be the fifth all-time postseason meeting between the two programs. 

Postseason Notes    

  • This is the Falcons' 14th GNAC postseason appearance.
  • Albertus has an all-time postseason record of 4-10-3.  
  • This is the fifth time Albertus and Emmanuel (Mass.) have faced off in the postseason. 

2022 Recap

  • The Falcons started the season on a 2-0-1 tear, winning matches against Mitchell College and Fisher College and battling to a 3-3 draw with CCNY. 
  • Albertus suffered a tough stretch, losing tightly-contested contests to Regis (Mass.) College, Rutgers-Newark, and Lasell University over their next four games, while taking a 2-0 victory from Colby-Sawyer College. 
  • AMC closed out September with a 1-1 draw with Elms College and a 4-1 victory over Anna Maria College. 
  • The Falcons opened October with a 1-0 victory over Simmons University before losing a tough 3-0 contest to Emmanual (Mass.).
  • The Falcons rebounded after the loss to the Saints with a five-game unbeaten streak, defeating Rivier University, Dean College, and Norwich University while recording back-to-back ties against St. Joseph (Conn.) and Saint Joseph's (Me.).
  • Albertus closed out the regular season with a hard-fought 4-2 loss to the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales University.
  • Graduate student Haley Andrews (Prospect, Conn.) scored both goals for the Falcons in the loss to the Wildcats, giving her sole possession of the program's all-time goals record, as she has tallied 39 in her career.

  • This year, the Falcons suffered a 3-0 defeat to the Saints on October 5.
  • Amy Stevens (Lincoln, R.I.) made five saves in a complete-game effort.
  • Emmalee Ianniello (Hamden, Conn.) and Keegan Riccio (West Haven, Conn.) each tallied a pair of shots in the contest.

  • Addie Legault leads the Saints' offense with 14 goals and five assists for 33 points. 
  • Sarah Dullaghan is close behind with 12 goals and four assists for 28 points. 
  • Liz McCormick leads the team with 10 assists to go along with two goals for 14 points. 
  • Patricia Kirejczyk is undefeated between the pipes with an 11-0 record on five shutouts, 29 saves, and 0.18 goals-against average.

Albertus Magnus Player Highlights

  • Stevens is fourth in the conference with a .833 save percentage and seventh with 90 total saves. 
  • Andrews finished the regular season in the top ten in goals scored with nine and assists with five for a total of 23 points. 
  • Erina Ismaili (Middlebury, Conn.) had a breakout year for the Falcons and finished the season with six goals and an assist. 
  • Victoria Jainchill (Simsbury, Conn.), Bridget Rosikiewicz (Naugatuck, Conn.), Haley Montesanto (East Haven, Conn.) and all scored multiple goals for the Falcons this season.
