NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team lost a 4-0 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match to Johnson and Wales University (R.I.) on Wednesday evening at Celentano Field.

Amy Stevens (Lincoln, R.I.) had seven saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The game was scoreless for the first 25 minutes until MacKenna Renaud scored back-to-back goals in a less than four minute span. The first came in the 26th minute on a shot just outside the top of the box to make it a 1-0 game. In the 29th minute, Renaud had a ball deflected to her in the center of the box and put the ball top shelf, making it a 2-0 game. 
  • Stevens had five saves in the first half for Albertus.
  • Grace Sheehan made it a 3-0 game in the 53rd minute on a cross from Sophia Warburton. The Wildcats added one more goal in the 88th minute.
  • The Falcons did get three shots on goal from Addie Lamond (Bethlehem, Conn.), Sophia Vescera (Prospect, Conn.) and Ejalam Bravo (New Britain, Conn.), but were stopped by JWU goalkeeper, Leah Bragaw.
