Ismaili Ties for Sixth All-Time in Goals; Women's Soccer Outlasts NEC

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Erina Ismaili (Middlebury, Conn.) netted her eighth goal this season to secure the Great Northeast Athletic Conference win, 1-0, over New England College. The Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team has extended its unbeaten streak to seven, including five consecutive wins over GNAC rivals.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Less than five minutes into the opening half, Madison Bowman attempted the only shot for NEC but it fell just wide of the net.
  • Ismaili drew a corner kick at the 75th mark, a Pilgrim attempted to clear the ball but it fell short as it landed directly in front of Addie Lamond (Bethlehem, Conn.). Lamond sent the ball through the air from in front of the Albertus bench, but it doinked off the crossbar.
  • In the 80th minute, Evie Tyrrell (Vernon, Conn.) attempted a cross pass inside the goalie box, but the shot was deflected by a Pilgrim. Ismaili denied the visitors taking possession of the ball as she tipped the ball in off rebound on the left side of the net.
