HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Albertus wasted little time taking control of the game with four shots in the first ten minutes with two coming from Sophia Vescera (Prospect, Conn.). After imposing their will on the Bulldogs throughout the first half, the Falcons finally broke through in the in the 34th minute on a goal from Stocking, which was her third of the season. On the goal, Stocking took a pass from Taya Bagley (Foster, R.I.), dribbled down the field and beat her defender as she was able to get a low left-footed shot off to the far side of the net past Dean goalkeeper Haley Gaunt to make it a 1-0 game.
  • Stevens stopped the lone shot she faced on net in the first half as Albertus took the one-goal lead into halftime.
  • It was more of the same in the second half as the Falcons took control from the beginning with five shots in the first 15 minutes. Their goal would come at the 67th minute as Brooklyn Gonzalez (Shelton, Conn.) made a touch pass to Lamond who was sprinting into the box ahead of her defender and fired a shot past Gaunt to make it a 2-0 game. The goal was the third of the season for Lamond.
