HOW IT HAPPENED
- At the 32nd minute mark, Ashley Shaw (Milford, Conn.) attempted the first shot on net for the Falcons but Teigan Robie made the save in the bottom left corner.
- Prior to the Albertus shot on goal, the Saints tried to convert a pair of shots but both fell just wide of the goal.
- With less than three minutes remaining in the first half, Stevens denied the hosts first shot on goal to keep the scoreboard clean through 45 minutes. Off a Falcons' foul, Jamilly Chava sent the ball towards the top right corner of the twine before Stevens snagged the shot.
- In the opening ten minutes of the second half of action, Liz McCormick shot off five shots, with two on goal and saved by Stevens. Off McCormick's final shot on goal at the 56th minute, the ball returned to the midfielder, who slid it across the goal to connect with Sarah Dullaghan to put the home team up, 1-0. Stevens stopped three more shots through regulation.
- Minutes later, Albertus Magnus had an opportunity of their own to level the match. Tyler Stocking (Middletown, Conn.) found herself behind the Saints backline and fired a shot at Robie from the left side, but the first-year's diving effort pushed the ball wide to snuff the Falcons' best change at netting the equalizer.
