Bravo, Shaw Named To All-GNAC Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Ejalam Bravo (New Britain, Conn.) and Ashley Shaw (Milford, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team were both named to All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) teams on Wednesday.

Bravo was named to the All-GNAC second team as a midfielder, while Shaw was named to the All-GNAC third team as a defender.

Julianne Yuris (Middletown, Conn.) was named to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

Bravo, who made the All-GNAC team for the first time finished the season with a career-high five goals to go with two assists. She also matched her career-high with 12 points during the season.

She had two game-winning goals on the season, including a dramatic goal in the 84th minute to lift the Falcons to a 2-1 win over the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) on October 29 at Celentano Field. 

In a game 3-0 win at home against Mitchell, Bravo scored two goals. It was her first two-goal game of her career.

Shaw, who made her first appearance on the All-GNAC team finished with an assist this season in a match against Saint Joseph's (Me.). She also registered 12 shots on the season. Shaw anchored a backline that led to five shutouts for the Falcons on the season, all in GNAC games.

 

Yuris, a freshman, was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team for the first time. Yuris had a goal and three assists on the season. She scored her first goal in her first career game in a 2-2 tie against Nichols.

It's the third time in the last four seasons the Falcons have had at least two players on All-GNAC teams.
