Bravo's Six Points Lifts Women's Soccer In Season-Opening Shutout Of Nichols

DUDLEY, Mass. - Ejalam Bravo (New Britain, Conn.) had two goals and two assists and scored less than three minutes into the game as the Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team defeated Nichols College, 4-0 to begin its 2025 campaign in a non-conference game on Friday evening.

Bravo's six points were a career high as she scored the first two goals of the game, and assisted on two second half goals.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Just 2:39 into the game, Bravo put the Falcons on the board as she took a pass from Grace D'Amico (Southbury, Conn.) and raced down the left side of the field and lofted a shot over the head of Nichols goalkeeper, Isabella Dupret on a tough angle into the back of the net to make it a 1-0 game.
  • Albertus kept the relentless pressure on in the first half as they took 14 shots during the first 45 minutes that also included a lightning delay.
  • Bravo added her second goal of the game at the 35th minute mark as Stocking took the ball after a throw-in, beat her defender and found a streaking Bravo running down the middle of the field all alone. Bravo then put a shot in the low corner past Dupret to make it a 2-0 game.
  • The score remained that way until the 61st minute as Bravo returned the favor to Stocking. As Albertus made an offensive push, Bravo floated a pass in front of the defense and Stocking split the final two defenders and tapped the ball into a wide open net as Dupret was caught out of the net attempting to get the ball.
  • Casorla tallied the final goal in the game at the 66 minute mark as Bravo took a centering pass from Stocking and fired a shot off the post that came back to Casorla, who put it home.
