THE BASICS
FINAL: Albertus Magnus 1 | Mount Holyoke 0
RECORDS: Albertus (2-1-0) | Mount Holyoke (1-1-0)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons dictated the pace of play throughout the first half, consistently keeping the ball in their offensive zone throughout. Albertus almost scored in the third minute, but a shot from Tyler Stocking (Middletown, Conn.) went off the crossbar.
- Albertus eventually broke through in the 18th minute as Bravo wrestled away a goal kick from Mount Holyoke just before midfield. Bravo then found D'Amico, who split two defenders inside the box, then made a move to her left to escape one of them and fired home a shot with her left foot to make it a 1-0 game.
- Albertus continued to push the pace in the first half, outshooting Mount Holyoke, 9-3 in the first 45 minutes and forcing eight corner kicks.
- The Falcons maintained the narrow lead throughout the second half, once again outshooting Mount Holyoke, 9-3.
