Paxton, Mass. – The Albertus Magnus College women's soccer team scored its second shutout of the week on Saturday, defeating Anna Maria, 4-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at AMCAT Field.

The Falcons (4-4-1, 2-0-1) used a quartet of first-half goals to blank the AMCATS (2-6, 1-2) for the second Autumn in a row.

The Albertus Magnus backline has posted a strong showing through its first three conference games, surrounding zero goals. Sopohmore goalkeeper Lexie Fenn (Oakville, Conn.) has played a key role in that and earned her third victory of the fall after turning aside the only shot she faced during the first half.

In the second half, senior netminder Ryan Clark (Milford, Conn.) and freshman Cassidy Scofield (Shelton, Conn.) combined for one save to preserve the team's fourth clean sheet of the year.

The Falcons opened the scoring in the eighth minute of action courtesy of a strike from junior midfielder Angelina Piccirillo (Naugatuck, Conn.). The unassisted tally was the first of the season for Piccirillo and the third game-winner of her career.

Nine minutes later, sophomore Kerrigan Loughman (Trumbull, Conn.) gave the hosts a two-goal edge with her first marker of the season. Late in the first half, senior midfielder Liz Falcigno (Wallingford, Conn.) and freshman Erin Daly (Seymour, Conn.) both found the back of the net for the guests. Falcigno's goal was her third in the past two games and was assisted by senior Liz Nagy (Meriden, Conn.), while Daly's tally was the second of her young career.

Albertus Magnus returns to action on Wednesday, September 28, with a road conference showdown against defending GNAC Champion Lasell that is slated to get underway at 4:00 pm. Last fall, the Lasers bested the Falcons, 1-0, in New Haven.
