Smith Named Assistant Sports Information Director

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Joshua Smith begins his first year as the Assistant Sports Information Director at Albertus Magnus College in the 2019-20 academic year. Smith will be the main contact for field hockey, women's volleyball, men's ice hockey, and men's & women's lacrosse.

Smith joins the Falcons following a one-year stint as Washington & Jefferson College's Assistant Sports Information Director. He aided in coverage of the Presidents' 24 varsity programs, which included being the primary contact for W&J's baseball program that made an appearance in the 2019 College World Series.

Before Washington & Jefferson, Smith was a Sports Information Assistant at Elmira College for two years. During that time, he helped guide communication efforts for the Soaring Eagles' 20 varsity sports by writing game releases, maintaining the school's athletics' website and keeping statistics at all home events.

Smith's first experience in sports information came at his alma mater Alvernia University, where he worked as a student assistant for one year. He began his career by writing recaps and handing social media responsibilities for select events.

A native of Reading, Pa., Smith graduated from Alvernia in June 2015 with a bachelor's degree in Communications. He then completed a master's degree in General Management at Elmira in June of 2018.
