In this week's segment of "Meet Our Coaches", we are featuring Head Baseball Coach Nick Wajnowski.
Wajnowski guided the Falcons to a bounce-back 2019 season, leading Albertus to an 8-8-1 overall record and an appearance in the Great Northeast Atheltic Conference (GNAC) Tournament Quarterfinals. The women's soccer team made their first post-season appearance since 2017. The duo of Haley Andrews and Katherine Raposo represented the Falcons on the All-GNAC Team, with the former being named to the Second Team and the latter being named to the Third Team.

What attracted you to Albertus Magnus College?
I was offered a job as the Sports Information Director the summer after I graduated, after an internship in the athletic department. As a 22 year old wanting to pursue a career in college athletics and to have an opportunity to get a start at my Alma mater was an opportunity I could not turn down. There are many classic stories of what the department was like to work at with only 3 Full Time people. You can do a month's worth of content on those stories.
What is your favorite coaching memory at Albertus Magnus?
I am going to give you two -
- Beating Nationally ranked Roger Williams in the ECAC tournament
- Getting to the GNAC Finals in 2016
Favorite Sports Team: I grew up a huge Green Bay Packers fan. Big Brett Favre fan.
Favorite TV Show: Love Seinfeld, Cheers, and The Office
Favorite Pre-Game Song: As a player in college it was a lot of Eminem.
Do you have any special talents, or a surprising thing that someone might not know about you?
My wife and I had our first child in May.
What is one of your hobbies?
Growing a beard
How are you staying active at home?
Going for walks with my wife.
