WINTHROP, Mass. – As NATA's National Athletic Training Month comes to a close, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference is pleased to announce Athletic Training Awards of Recognition for all 13 staff's across the GNAC.

In lieu of the league's annual Athletic Training Staff of the Year Award, which is normally voted upon by our athletic trainers at the end of each academic year, the GNAC is honoring each and every staff, especially for their tireless efforts amidst the COVID-19 pandemic for our 3,200+ student-athletes.

To show their own AT appreciation, members of the GNAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) have shared video messages on Instagram (@TheGNAC), thanking our athletic training staff's all throughout March's National Athletic Training Month, in conjunction with the National Athletic Trainers' Association

Whether it was navigating how to safely conduct athletic activities in the fall, or working with the GNAC Athletic Directors' Council this winter to set safe parameters to finally return to spring play, the leadership of our GNAC athletic training and sports medicine teams has been invaluable during the 2020-21 academic year.

ATs are essential to health care. National Athletic Training Month is held every March in order to spread awareness about the important work of athletic trainers.

The GNAC would like to also express its gratitude to longtime award vendor Reading Trophy & Shirt for their work in designing and providing the stunning hardware for our ATs. Be sure to support local businesses, as this family establishment in Reading, Mass. will take care of all your needs – from trophies to plaques to the beautiful acrylics that our esteemed athletic trainers are receiving.
