Albertus Magnus College Announces the Addition of Men's Swimming & Diving

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Albertus Magnus College President Dr. Marc M. Camille and Director of Athletics Jim Abromaitis are thrilled to announce the addition of men's swimming & diving as the College's latest varsity sport offering. The addition of men's swimming & diving brings Albertus' varsity offerings to 16, with eight men's programs and eight women's teams.

"The addition of men's swimming and diving to the College's portfolio of NCAA Division III teams supports the growth mindset embraced by the Albertus community," said President Camille. "In recent years, the women's swimming and diving program has become increasingly competitive under Coach Lauren Pallone, and I expect we'll see the new men's program take a similar trajectory."

Falcons' women's swimming & diving head coach Lauren Pallone will helm the men's program, which is slated to compete in the Fall of 2022. Pallone was hired to lead the women's team in the spring of 2018 and has led the Falcons to incremental success over their three varsity seasons.

"I am grateful to our President, Dr. Marc Camille, Vice President of Enrollment and Marketing, Andrea Kovacs, and our Director of Athletics, Jim Abromaitis, for the opportunity to help grow the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level," said Coach Pallone.

"Lauren has taken on many roles in addition to her women's swimming responsibilities," said Abromaitis. "She has handled them all with class and determination, and I have no doubt she will approach this new challenge in the same manner."

The Falcons will compete in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), becoming the league's eighth sponsoring member on the men's side. Albertus will be joining Colby-Sawyer College, Elms College, Norwich University, Regis (Mass.) College, Roger Williams, University of Saint Joseph's (CT), and Saint Joseph's College of Maine.

Any current student-athletes or prospective student-athletes interested in joining the men's swimming & diving program, please reach out to Coach Pallone at lpallone@albertus.edu or 203-672-6778.
