Men's Soccer Unveils 2023 Schedule

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - After leading the Albertus Magnus College men's soccer team to their fourth straight winning season, former Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Coach of the Year Pete Hamasian announced the program's schedule for the 2023 campaign. 

The Falcons are scheduled to play 17 matches during the 2023 season, with 14 of those matches being part of the GNAC slate. Albertus will play nine matches this season on their home turf, Celentano Field, while the remaining eight games will take place on the road. 

The Falcons kick off the year with a road clash against the Pride of Springfield College on September 1 at 7 p.m. Two days later, the Falcons return to Celentano Field for their home opener against Castleton University at 2 p.m.

Albertus will welcome the one of the two newest members of the GNAC, New England College, for a 7 p.m. home match on Wednesday September 6th. The Falcons follow with two road matches against Colby-Sawyer College on September 9 and GNAC newcomer, Mitchell College, on September 13 in an intrastate battle. 

The Falcons return home on September 16 for a 4 p.m. game with the Cadets of Norwich University, before taking to the road again to challenge Anna Maria College on Tuesday, September 19. 

In a rematch of a thrilling 2022 GNAC quarterfinals match, the Falcons will welcome the University of Saint Joseph (CT) on September 23 for a home showdown, before challenging Westfield State on September 27 at 7 p.m. On September 30, the Falcons wrap-up the first month of the season with a road game at Regis. The Falcons have won the last three matches against the Pride.

The Falcons continue on the road to kick off the new month taking on Lasell on October 3, followed by a three-game homestand beginning with an October 7 game against Emmanuel College. They'll then take on Elms at 7 p.m. on October 11, followed by an October 14 game against Saint Joseph's (Me.) at 3 p.m.

Albertus concludes its road schedule with games at Johnson & Wales University on October 17th in Providence, R.I., before making the trip up to Nashua, New Hampshire for a date with the Rivier Raiders on October 21. The Falcons are 20-1-1 in their last 22 games against Rivier.

Albertus will return home for their regular season finale and senior day on October 24th with a  7 p.m. match against Dean College.
