NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College Field Hockey team announced its 2023 schedule on Tuesday.
The Falcons will play 14 games this season, including 12. Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contests.
Albertus opens up with a home game against GNAC newcomer, New England College on September 2, followed by three straight conference road games at Simmons on September 6, Anna Maria on September 9 and Lasell on September 16.
The Falcons return home against Saint Joseph's of Maine on September 23 before two straight out of conference games. The first will be played up Interstate 91 at Springfield College on September 26, followed by a game the next day at home against Manhattanville.
Albertus goes back on the road on September 30, when they take on Elms, whom the Falcons defeated 2-1 in a thrilling double overtime game last season that ended in a shootout. The Falcons then take on their biggest test of the season at defending GNAC Champion, Johnson and Wales on October 4. Johnson and Wales finished 2022 undefeated in conference play.
Rivier comes down to New Haven as part of a two-game home stretch on October 7. After a 6 day layoff, the Eagles will host Colby-Sawyer on October 13..
The final road test for the Falcons comes on October 18, as they take on the University of Saint Joseph (CT). The two teams played a tight 1-0 game last season in which the Blue Jays scored the lone goal in the first quarter.
Albertus wraps up its season at home against Regis on October 21 and Dean on October 24. The Falcons defeated Dean, 3-1 last season.
