
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The College Sports Communicators had 11 Albertus Magnus College student-athletes named to its 20224 Academic All-District At-Large Teams.
On the women's team, Amber DeJonge (Grand Rapids, Mich.) of the women's lacrosse, field hockey and ice hockey teams was selected along with Ariana Martin (Hamden, Conn.) of the women's ice hockey team and Paige Scheid (Cedar Grove, N.J.), Laurel Maus (Woodbridge, Conn.) and Melina Tarzia (Stamford, Conn.) of the field hockey team.
It is the second time this season Scheid was named to a CSC All-District Team as she was named to the softball All-District team earlier this year.
On the men's CSC All-District Team, Tyler Ignazzitto (Bath, Ontario), Logan Bateman (Ottawa, Ontario), JJ Berdal (Wausau, Wis.), Ryan Herpy (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) and Cameron Weitzman (Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec) of the men's ice hockey team were all selected along with Dane Walsh (Bethany, Conn.) of the men's lacrosse team.
For Bateman and Herpy, it is the second consecutive year they were each named to the team.
Ignazzitto and Bateman were both selected as finalists and will be added to the national ballot for the CSC Academic All-American team. The All-American team will be announced on Wednesday, July 17.
