NEW HAVEN, Conn. — In this weeks "Taking Flight" Players of the Week, Juju Oliver (New Britain, Conn.) of women's tennis and Lorenzo Lauria (New Haven, Conn.) of men's soccer, had outstanding performances on the court and pitch.
Oliver won her Singles No. 1 match over WestConn, 6-2, 6-3 and in Doubles No. 1 to defeat the Wolves, 8-5. She has won two of her last three singles and doubles matches for the Falcons.
Lauria scored the game-winning goal to break a scoreless tie with just 93 seconds left as the Falcons won a thrilling 1-0 match over Rivier. It was the third goal of the season for Lauria, who has scored a goal in three of the five matches this season.
