HAMDEN, Conn. – Former Albertus Magnus College men's soccer standout Alex Zapata will be inducted into the Hamden High School Hall of Fame on October 23.
Zapata was a three-time All-GNAC selection (2014-16) and the 2012 GNAC Rookie of the Year during his time with the Falcons. He played an integral role during the Falcons' magical 2012 campaign which culminated in a GNAC Tournament Title and the first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in program history.
Zapata currently ranks seventh all-time in Albertus in goals (28), assists (19) and points (75).
Also being honored by this year are John Ceneri (girls' basketball coach), Dennis Petriella '65 (baseball), Jim Giordano '70 (baseball), Kim Harris '78 (girls' basketball and volleyball) and Dominic Rapini '79 (football and track and field).
