NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Amanda Zdru (Stratford, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College women's basketball team and Avery Hinnant (Naugatuck, Conn.) of the men's basketball team were named the Takin' Flight Falcons of the Week for their performances this past week.
Zdru scored 12 points and added four rebounds and a steal in a regular season finale victory over NEC on Saturday. The graduate student guard followed up with a season-high 15 points to help the Falcons beat Anna Maria in the GNAC Quarterfinals on Tuesday.
Hinnant finished with seven points and grabbed 13 rebounds against NEC on Saturday. The junior center led the way for the Falcons in the GNAC Quarterfinals on Tuesday night against Norwich where he scored a career-high 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
