NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Gianna Carrano (West Haven, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus softball team and Peter Keese (Minnetonka, Minn.) of the men's tennis team were named the Takin' Flight Falcons of the Week for their performances this past week.
Carrano registered eight hits in the past six games, helping the Falcons go 4-2 during that stretch. The sophomore went 3-for-4 in a 5-4 win over Manhattanville on Wednesday. On Sunday, she went a combined 4-for-7 in a doubleheader sweep of USJ.
Keese had an individual undefeated week to help the Falcons go 3-0 on the week. The freshman won both No. 2 singles matches against York in a doubleheader on Thursday. Keese and Cody Walker (Boise, Idaho) won both No. 2 doubles matches on Thursday, as well. On Friday, he won his No. 4 singles match in straight sets and won his No. 4 doubles match with Bailey Kirwin (Barrie, Ontario) to help the Falcons defeat St. Joseph's (L.I.).
