A familiar face joins the Albertus Magnus women's volleyball staff as former player Genesis Cora Luquis will start her new role as an assistant coach in 2023-2024.
Cora - a native of Meriden, Conn. - played two seasons with the Falcons in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 as an outside hitter. She appeared in 56 games in her career notching 552 kills, 39 assists, 101 aces, 20 blocks and racking up 665.5 points in her career. She was third in the Greater Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) with 67 aces in 2017-2018 and was in the top ten in the GNAC in digs (396) and points (365). She also earned GNAC Player of the Week honors twice. In the 2018-2019 season she was in the top ten in the GNAC in kills per set (2.82), total attacks (835) and points per set (3.2).
Most recently, she has been an assistant coach at Pure Passion Volleyball and Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven, Conn.
She graduated in 2021 from Albertus Magnus with a Bachelor's degree in General Studies.
