Falcons Participate in Fair Haven Snowball Event

On Friday, Feb. 7, members of the Albertus Magnus women’s lacrosse team and softball team went over to the Fair Haven School to participate in the local school’s annual Snowball event.

Every year the classes, Pre-K through eighth grade, perform dances and cheer for the local college or university that each grade represents.  This year, the sixth-grade class wore their Albertus Magnus College t-shirts and welcomed Frankie the Falcon, the Albertus mascot, on stage along with the student-athletes in attendance.  Frankie and the Albertus student-athletes helped the Fair Haven students do a cheer to honor the College.

Other grades represented local universities such as Yale, New Haven, Southern Connecticut, Quinnipiac and Gateway Community College. Other state universities such as UConn, Western, Central and Eastern were also represented.

Frankie was one of two mascot to attend, joining Southern Connecticut’s Owl, while cheerleaders from Quinnipiac and student-athletes from UConn and Central Connecticut joined their respected grade levels on stage.

The members of the Albertus women’s lacrosse team in attendance at the Friday morning event were Courtney Pray, Samantha Milano, Miranda Jassil, and Fekianne Charles, while Brittney Urciuoli, Veronica Hribko, and Elaina Maio represented the Albertus softball team.  Women’s lacrosse head coach Joe Caruso and baseball head coach Brian Leighton were also in attendance for the Albertus Magnus Department of Athletics.
