In game two of the non-conference baseball double-header, Albertus Magnus dropped a 9-6 decision to Coast Guard at Quigley Stadium in West Haven. A three-run sixth inning followed by a two-run seventh secured the 9-6 victory over the Falcons.

Coast Guard's James Diddell earned his first win of the season as he went five innings on the mound for the Bears (8-11) and gave up six hits and two earned runs. The junior struck out four Falcons (2-8) but walked five as well. Tyler Vieira earned his second save of the season as he struck out two, while closing out the game for the Bears in the seventh.

After Coast Guard took a 2-0 lead on two unearned runs in the first inning, the Falcons tied the game at two in the bottom of the third thanks to an RBI double by Fanal Prevalla (Berlin, Conn.) and an RBI single from Kyle Calechman (North Haven, Conn.). The Bears answered in the top of the fourth and took back the lead as Cameron Carroll recorded a two-RBI double to deep centerfield to give Coast Guard a 4-2 advantage.

The Falcons took the lead again in the fifth by using a three-run inning. Three hits and one costly Coast Guard error put the Falcons ahead 5-4. Calechman led off the fifth with a single before advancing to second on a Malcolm Mendez (New York, N.Y.) walk. An error by the Coast Guard infield loaded the bases for the Falcons with no outs. A short fly ball into right was not deep enough to score Calechman but an RBI single by Nick Sedia (Bronx, N.Y.) was able to plate the first runner of the inning.

Patrick Dornfried (Berlin, Conn.) followed with a double to right center to score two more Falcons and to give his team a 5-4 lead.

Coast Guard answered again with three runs in the sixth to take a 7-5 lead, then added two more in the seventh. The Falcons were only able to tally one more run in the contest, as Zak Sokolis (Meriden, Conn.) scored on a wild pitch.

Calechman finished the game 3-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI to lead the Falcons.

Mike Barillaro started for Albertus on the mound and went four innings, while allowing three hits and four unearned runs. He also struck out five. Brian Levchuk took the loss for the Falcons as he dropped to 0-3 on the year. Levchuk went 1.2 innings as he walked four and gave up three runs.

Albertus returns to action on Saturday as the Falcons travel to No. 24 Saint Joseph's College of Maine for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference double-header in Standish.
