Johnson & Wales (R.I.) registered a six-run fourth inning followed by a five-run fifth to take an 11-8 victory over the Albertus Magnus baseball team in game one of the Saturday afternoon GNAC double-header.
Despite the loss, the Falcons (5-13, 2-3 GNAC) tallied eight runs on 12 hits, including four doubles. Albertus took a 4-0 lead after 3 ½ innings before the Wildcats posted their six-run frame. After being shutout in the top of the fifth, JWU added five more runs to make the score 11-4. The Falcons cut the JWU lead to three at 11-8 with four runs in the top of the sixth but it wasn't enough as their late-inning rally was cut short.

Malcolm Mendez (New York, N.Y.) tallied a two-hit effort as well along with Robert Gambardella (North Haven, Conn.).
