The Albertus Magnus baseball team fell to Suffolk University in back-to-back games on Sunday afternoon as the Falcons dropped game one 3-2 before falling in game two by a score of 8-4.

With the losses, the Falcons move to 9-14 on the year and 3-7 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.  Suffolk improves to 10-12 overall and 6-2 in the league.

Suffolk's Josh Desai struck out 10 batters in a complete-game four-hit victory in game one.  The Rams scored all of their runs in the third inning thanks to a double by Sean Cameron and a single up the middle from Julien Plana.  In the third, the Rams forced one walk and had three batters hit by pitches.

Albertus scored both of its runs in the sixth inning during the Falcons' late-inning rally.  Nick Sedia (Bronx, N.Y.) led off the inning with a walk before stealing second base to get into scoring position. Tyler Robertson (Cheshire, Conn.) connected for his lone hit of the contest to advance Sedia and put runners on the corner with no outs.  Tyler Graziano (Trumbull, Conn.) knocked in the Falcons' first run of the day with a base hit.  Anthony Pellegrino (Branford, Conn.) registered the other RBI as he grounded out, cutting the Falcons' deficit to just one run.

Pellegrino finished the game with two hits and registered the 100th hit of his career.

Desai would later get out of a jam as he struck out two batters to end the top half of the inning as the Falcons had two runners on base.

Oscar Ogando (Elkton, Md.) fell to 1-1 on the year with the loss as he gave up three runs on five hits in four innings of work.

In game two of the afternoon, Albertus held a 4-0 lead before Suffolk scored eight unanswered runs, with one run in the third, three in the fifth and four in the sixth.

The Falcons opened the game with a run in the first inning.  Robertson reached to lead things off after striking out but beating out the ball on a passed ball to the backstop.  He would later score on a groundout by junior Justin Poirier (Meriden, Conn.).

The Falcons would add three more runs in the third inning thanks to double by Mike Saia (Bridgeport, Conn.).  Robertson led off the inning with a walk before a single by Pellegrino put runners on the corners. Saia followed with the double before Ted Gravel (Morris, Conn.) plated two runs with a double to left center.

Cameron would get Suffolk on the board in the third with a double that plated the Rams' first run of the game to make the score 4-1. Three more runs by the Rams would come in the fifth inning to tie the game before the game-winning run was scored in the sixth as part of a four-run inning.

Cal Carroll pitched 3.1 innings of scoreless relief to earn his first victory of the year for the Rams.

Jordan Kubilus (Cheshire, Conn.) fell to 0-3 on the year as he gave up seven earned runs on eight hits in 5.2 innings of work.  Mike Hughes (Norwalk, Conn.) finished the game as he closed out the sixth allowing one walk and one hit before registering the final out of the frame.
