WINTHROP, Mass. – After playing a pivotal role in the Albertus Magnus College baseball team picking up three critical Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) wins last week, junior utility player Sean Jefferson (West Haven, Conn.) was named the GNAC Baseball Player of the Week.
Jefferson had a fantastic week for the Falcons, posting a 1.875 OPS. He went 6-for-12 from the plate with six RBIs, three runs scored, two home runs, a triple, and a double. The junior logged a .500/.625 /1.250 slash line to help Albertus post a 3-2 record. The highlight of Jefferson's week came in AMC's opener against Rivier University, when he hit two solo homers in a 16-2 home win for the Falcons.
The Falcons are slated to take a short break from conference play to challenge Western Connecticut State University on Wednesday, April 20. The nine-inning contest is slated to begin at 4 p.m. at Rochford Field.
