Postseason Begins
The Albertus Magnus College baseball team posted a 10-23 overall record in the 2022 regular season and an 8-10 mark in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play. After a solid regular season, the Falcons were slotted sixth in the GNAC standings heading into the league's championship tournament, which earned them a first-round matchup against the third-seeded Wildcats of Johnson & Wales University.

The Falcons and Wildcats will begin the 2022 GNAC Tournament on Tuesday, May 3, at 5:30 p.m. at Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletics Complex in Providence, R.I. The first-round features one single-elimination game, with the winner next challenging second-seeded Anna Maria College on the road on Thursday, May 5.

Postseason Notes

• Albertus Magnus is making its 23rd appearance in the GNAC Tournament and is in search of the third conference title in program history.
• The Falcons have qualified for the last three GNAC Tournaments.
• Albertus is 17-25 all-time in the conference tournament and is searching for the team's first league title since 2003.

2022 Recap

• The Falcons started the season with their annual spring break trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C.
• AMC dropped both ends of their doubleheader to Lasell University to open GNAC competition, losing the second game of the twin bill, 12-11.
• The Falcons then started a five-game homestand that saw them snap their losing streak with a 4-1 victory over Dean College and a 5-4 victory over second-seeded Anna Maria College. 
• The Falcons traveled to Standish, Me. for a doubleheader with the Monks, before returning home for a three-game home stretch that saw them score 31 runs in a doubleheader sweep of the Rivier Raiders that sparked a 5-1 stretch for the Falcons.
• AMC then split a doubleheader with conference-foe Norwich University, losing the first game 4-0, before taking the nightcap 5-4.
• The Falcons followed up by taking both ends of a doubleheader from the Purchase College Panthers, before suffering a doubleheader setback to JWU.
• The Falcons closed out the season with a 3-3 stretch, sweeping Colby-Sawyer in conference play, before dropping both ends of a doubleheader to Eastern Nazarene and rebounding with a doubleheader split against Elms College. 
• The Falcons smashed 28 homeruns to lead the GNAC during the regular season while finishing fourth in the conference in slugging percentage with a .394 mark.
• Falcon sluggers Sean Jefferson (West Haven, Conn.) and Shawn Smith (Shelton, Conn.) whacked five homeruns apiece to finish the regular season tied for fourth in the conference.
