NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College baseball team dropped a pair of contests to the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales University in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats took the opener by a final score of 11-0, before securing the nightcap in similar fashion by a final score of 11-0.
John Riccio (Shelton, Conn. ) and Nick Ramos (Mineola, N.Y.) led the Falcons offensively in the twinbill. Riccio slashed three hits across the doubleheader, while Ramos was 2-for-5 with a double and a hit-by-pitch.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS - Game 1
- The Wildcats kicked off the game with a lead-off home run by Trevor Juan. Johnson & Wales kept the energy high with three additional runs in the top of the first to take the early 4-0 advantage.
- AMC threatened in the bottom of the first when Ron Losacano (Old Lyme, Conn.) was hit by a pitch and Sullivan advanced him to third with a double into center field, but Wildcat's hurler Aidan Vining slammed the door with a strikeout.
- The Wildcats expanded their lead in the top of the second inning with another four-run frame, expanding their lead to 8-0.
- JWU plated another run in the third to make it a 9-0 game. In the bottom of the third, Riccio led off the inning with a single into left field, but was erased on a double play. Bobby Arent (Ridgefield, Conn.) kept the inning alive with a two-out single, but Vining ended the inning with another strikeout.
- The Wildcats loaded the bases in the fourth, and scored a run when Miles Kelly lofted a sacrifice fly to center field to take a 9-0 advantage.
- In the bottom of the fifth inning, AMC put runners on the corners with one out, but Vining slammed the door on the rally with a pair of strikeouts to send the teams into the sixth frame.
- The Wildcats added to their lead in the top of the sixth when Thorin Sanchez-Guerra hit a leadoff homerun over the left field wall to make it 11-0.
- Sean Jefferson (West Haven, Conn.) reached on an error in the bottom of the sixth and moved to second base when Ramos laced a two-out single back up the middle. However, the Falcons were unable to capitalize on the opportunity, as Vining induced a pop-out to end the inning and strand the runners.
- Down 11-0 in the bottom of the seventh, the Falcons were unable to get the offense going, and fell to the Wildcats by a final score of 11-0 in game one.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS - Game 2
- The Wildcats struck first in the top of the first frame, scoring one run on two hits.
- Tyler Baldwin (Cromwell, Conn.) held the Wildcats scoreless in the second inning, tossing a 1-2-3 frame with a pair of punchouts.
- In the bottom of the second, Ramos whacked a one-out double down the right field line, but was left stranded when Wildcat's hurler Ryan Schultz induced a flyout and a strikeout to end the frame.
- Baldwin hurled another 1-2-3 inning in the top of the third, but the Falcons were unable to take advantage at the plate in the bottom of the half, as Schultz matched Baldwin zero-for-zero.
- JWU tacked on another run in the top of the fourth on a pair of singles, but Baldwin wiggled out of the jam with a flyout and a groundout to keep the deficit at two.
- In the bottom of the fourth, Ramos and Riccio reached on a hit-by-pitch and a single, but were left stranded when Schultz struck out the next batter for the third out.
- The Wildcats tacked on three more runs in the top of the fifth inning on four hits to take a 5-0 lead. AMC was unable to respond in the bottom of the fifth, despite King Rivera (Bridgeport, Conn.) reaching on a leadoff error and stealing second base, and the teams moved to the sixth inning.
- JWU added two more insurance runs in the sixth to take a commanding 7-0 lead. In the bottom of the inning, Jefferson doubled to right field, but was caught off the base on a lineout, and the teams moved into the seventh frame.
- JWU tacked on an additional four runs to make it an 11-0 contest, heading into the bottom of the seventh. Despite a hit-by-pitch from Rivera, Albertus was unable to tally a run, and the Falcons suffered the 11-0 setback in game two.
