MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The Albertus Magnus College baseball team struck quickly off the heels of Anthony Abate (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Eric Galarza (Bridgeport, Conn.), scoring the first two runs of the game, but Mount Aloysius College responded strongly in the 16-3 loss to close out the Spring Break trip at The Ripken Experience on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Abate stepped to the plate in the number two spot and knocked a single to centerfield for Albertus' first hit of the game followed by Galarza's one-bagger to right field putting Abate in scoring position after rounding two bases.
- Elijah Spataj (Cheshire, Conn.) grounded out to second base to advance Galarza a base as Abate crossed home plate to put the Falcons on the board in the opening inning, 1-0. In the following at-bat, Shawn Smith (Shelton, Conn.) connected for an RBI single to centerfield and sent Galarza home.
- The Mounties responded with RBIs by Tyler Quade and Joshua Brown, tying the game at two after the first inning.
- In the fourth frame, Abate was struck by the pitch with the bases loaded and allowed Tyler DeSanty (West Haven, Conn.) to notch the final run for the Falcons, after the sophomore reached first off an error by third base.
- Mounties scored at least once in all six of their at-bats, including five runs in the second inning and four runs in the third.
