HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons and Pride were evenly matched through the first five minutes of the contest, with neither team able to gain the upper hand. Both teams tallied three shots but were unable to put one into the cage. At the seventh minute, the Pride finally broke through, when Morgan Pera sent one into the corner of the cage for the first score of the game, giving the Pride the 1-0 lead.

Regis would add to its advantage at the 12th minute of the first quarter when Gracie Marsh broke through the scrum and pinged a ball into the uprights for the second Pride goal. The Falcons wasted no time, retaliating with their own goal less than a minute later. Junior Ariana Martin (Hamden, Conn.) took control of the ball and streaked up the field, finding A. Duranaleau waiting near the goal and feeding her the perfect pass. A. Duranaleau didn't disappoint, firing the pass into the cage for the first Falcons score of the game to cut the deficit to 2-1. The Pride responded a moment later with their own goal to make it a 3-1 game, with just over a minute remaining in the first quarter.

The second quarter saw the Pride cushion their lead with a pair of goals to give them the four-goal advantage, 5-1, heading into the halftime break.

Regis continued to pile on the pressure in the third quarter, netting a pair of goals to increase their lead to 7-1 with one quarter remaining in regulation. Despite firing off five shots in the quarter, the Falcons were unable to cut the deficit and headed into the final quarter down by six.

Regis added their eighth tally three minutes into the fourth, on a goal by Frankie Alley. The Falcons took control of the ball from there, ripping off four penalty corners and three shots over the next six minutes before Martin connected with Pendziwater, who deposited the shot into the cage for the Falcons' second score of the game. Regis responded a minute later with their ninth goal with less than 10 minutes remaining in regulation. The Falcons were unable to mount the comeback and the game ended in a 9-2 Regis victory.
