BOX SCORE

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first quarter, Johnson & Wales burst out of the gates, scoring the game's opening goal 14 seconds into the contest. JWU added goals at the 6:12- and 14:18-minute marks to take a 3-0 advantage into the second quarter. Jillian Miele led the way for the Wildcats by posting a hat trick in the first 15 minutes.

The Falcons defense tightened up to start the second frame, as they held Johnson & Wales scoreless over the first 11 minutes of the quarter. Unfortunately for Albertus, the tough Wildcat offense would not stay down for long, as the home team scored three goals in the final four minutes to take a 6-0 lead into halftime.

Just like in the first half, JWU controlled much of the action in the second half. The Wildcats scored three goals in the third and two in the fourth to put the finishing touches on an 11-0 GNAC victory.

The Albertus defense did its part trying to limit the high-powered Wildcats, as the Falcons combined to post six defensive saves. Summer Bartnick (Seaford, N.Y.) and Madison Duranleau (Wheelock, Vt.) each tallied a game-high two defensive saves, while Danielle Brodman (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and Ariana Martin (Hamden, Conn.) each had one.
