Field Hockey Drops Home Opener against Lasell

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College field hockey team fell to the Lasers of Lasell University in its home opener on Saturday afternoon, 8-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Falcons battled hard in the first quarter, finishing the frame tied 0-0.
• Lasell rallied in the second quarter, scoring four unanswered goals to go up 4-0.
• Albertus had another great defensive quarter in the third, allowing one score to keep the deficit at 5-0.
• The Lasers tacked on three more goals in the fourth to secure the 8-0 victory.
• Junior goalkeeper Serena Montague (Englishtown, N.J.) started in the cage for AMC and made 19 saves in a complete-game effort.

• Today's game marked the third all-time meeting between the Falcons and Lasers.

The Albertus Magnus field hockey team will next welcome the Lyons of Mount Holyoke College on Tuesday, Sept. 27. The non-conference showdown will begin at 7 p.m. at Celentano Field.
