Field Hockey Bested at Home Against Mount Holyoke

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Albertus Magnus College field hockey team dropped a non-conference bout to the Lyons of Mount Holyoke College on Tuesday evening by a final score of 7-0 at Celentano Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Falcons held firm in the first quarter, holding the Lyons scoreless to make it a 0-0 game heading to the second quarter.
• Mount Holyoke caught fire in the second, scoring five unanswered goals to go ahead 5-0 at the halftime break.
• Albertus' defense held strong in the second half, holding the Lyons to one goal in the third and fourth quarters to settle the final score at 7-0.
Melina Tarzia (Stamford, Conn.) led the way for AMC with two shots, while Alexandra Barrett (Northford, Conn.) posted one. 
• Tarzia tallied the best scoring chance in the game for the Falcons, as she streaked down the field and took a shot that the Lyons' keeper needed to dive to save. After getting her own rebound, Tarzia took another crack at the cage, but was turned away when a MHC defender hit the ball out of bounds at the last minute. 
Serena Montague (Englishtown, N.J.) led the Albertus defense with 13 saves over 60 minutes.
