WINTHROP, Mass. – After picking up her second career win, Serena Montague (Englishtown, N.J.) of the Albertus Magnus College field hockey team earned her second Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Week honor, as announced Monday afternoon.
Montague tallied a pair of solid showings in the cage for Albertus this week, earning her second career win over that stretch. The junior keeper first helped guide the Falcons to a thrilling 2-1 win over Elms College in a shootout on Wednesday. Montague allowed one goal and finished with eight saves over regulation and two overtimes. She then stopped all four of the Blazers' attempts in the shootout to pick up the GNAC victory. Montague followed that up by making 14 saves against Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons will conclude the 2022 regular season on Tuesday, Oct. 25, with a home 3:30 p.m. tilt against the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) at Celentano Field.
