GENEVA, N.Y. – Senior Madison Duranleau (Wheelock, Vt.) and freshman Paige Scheid (West Orange, N.J.) of the Albertus Magnus College field hockey team were named 2022 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Scholars of Distinction, as announced by the association on Thursday.

The Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2022-23 academic year. This year the NFHCA awarded more than 470 student-athletes from the Division III level.

M. Duranleau started in 11 games for the Falcons and tallied a career-high three points on one goal and one assist, ranking her third on the team in points. She netted her first career goal against Regis (Mass.) before tallying her second career assist at Manhattanville.

In her rookie season, Scheid saw action in 14 games, including seven starts for the Falcons. She concluded the fall campaign with two shot attempts.

Back on Feb. 9, 2023, M. Duranleau and Scheid were also recognized by the NFHCA by being placed on the 2022 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.
