Field Hockey Sets Season-High In Shots, But Fall To Manhattanville

PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Albertus Magnus College field hockey team lost a 3-0 non-conference game to Manhattanville College on Monday afternoon.

Ella Welton (Cliffwood, N.J.) had three saves in net for the Falcons. Jess Trocchio (Holtsville, N.Y.) had three shots, one on goal for the Falcons.

Albertus had six shots on the day, which were a season-high.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • No teams put a shot on net in a scoreless first quarter. Manhattan took six shots, with one hitting the post.
  • The Valiants got on the board at 22:15 in the second as Hannah Revell stuffed a shot across the goalline after a scramble for the ball in front of the net.
  • Albertus had an opportunity late in the second half as a shot by Mariya Helmbold (Bellmawr, N.J.) was stopped by Manhattanville goaltender, Cat Morgan.
  • Manhattanville scored twice in the third quarter, first by Keira Guinan spun and took a shot just in front of the net, making it a 2-0 game. The Valiants added one more goal by Fiona Doherty at the 42:18 mark in the game.
