Falcons Win Third Straight Conference Game 78-66 Over St. Joe's (ME)

Standish, ME - The Albertus Magnus College Men's Basketball Team overcame a 39-30 half time deficit to soar past GNAC opponent St. Joe's (ME) 78-66 on Monday night.  The Falcons struggled to find their rhythm but used a pair of runs to ignite a double digit lead with 3:23 to go and never relinquished it.  Albertus opened the first half with a 5-0 run eventually tying the game on a three-pointer from freshman guard Arshad Jackson (Hartford, CT) with 12:52 remaining in the second half.  Neither team could pull ahead until the Falcons went on a 12-1 run that sealed the game with just over three minutes remaining.  Albertus was lead by another strong performance by sophomore forward Ray Askew (Hamden, CT) who had his 11 double-double of the season scoring a game high 34 points and 14 rebounds.  Freshman center Jefferson Lora (Bronx, NY) had a double-double of his own with 14 points and 10 rebounds.  St. Joe's (ME) was lead by senior forward Raymond Eatmon (Huntington, NY) and his team high 15 points and 12 rebounds.  The Falcons improve to 10-4, 6-1 GNAC on the season while St. Joe's (ME) drops to 10-3, 5-2 GNAC.  The Falcons look to win their fourth straight game on Saturday when they host GNAC opponent Suffolk University at 1:00 pm.
