Albertus Magnus Basketball Teams Receive All Conference Awards

Albertus Magnus Basketball Teams Receive All Conference Awards

For just second time in the history of the Albertus Magnus College Basketball Programs, both teams received Player of the Year Awards.

Junior center Kendrae Walker (New Haven, CT) received Player of the Year to go along with her First Team All Conference award.  Walker averaged 20.3 points and 11.4 rebounds per game for the Lady Falcons, who finished in 3rd place during the regular season.  Her selection as Player of the Year was well deserved as she led the league in both scoring and rebounding.

Sophomore forward Ray Askew (Hamden, CT) also received Player of the Year to go along with his First Team All Conference Award.  Askew finished with 22.3 points (2nd in GNAC) and 12.1 rebounds (1st in GNAC).  Ray was also ranked in the top ten in Blocks (1.2), Field Goal % (.512), and Steals (1.4).  As impressive as Askew was throughout the season, even more impressive was the fact that he was not in the top ten in minutes played.   In his second season, Ray has been named First Team All Conference both years.

Junior guard Walden St. Juste (Hartford, CT) was named Second Team All Conference.  St. Juste averaged 15.3 points (6th in GNAC) and 2.2 steals (2nd in GNAC) during the season.  Walden was the second scoring option on the number one ranked offense in the league this season.

Freshman center Jefferson Lora (Bronx, NY) was named Third Team All Conference.  Lora averaged 11.4 points, 7.1 rebounds (7th in GNAC), and 2.2 blocks (3rd in GNAC) this season.  The 6'8" 255 pound center was a consistent inside force for the Falcons this season.
