The Albertus Magnus men's basketball team will host Anna Maria College on Saturday, Feb. 25 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament Championship game. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center in New Haven.

Albertus holds an overall record of 26-1 after defeating Lasell College in GNAC semifinal action on Thursday night. Led by 21 points from senior Ray Askew (Hamden, Conn.), the Falcons downed Lasell 92-70. Anna Maria earned its trip to the championship game after a 60-59 win over Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Thursday.
The Falcons will be making their fifth all-time appearance in the GNAC championship game since the league's first season in 1995-96. Saturday's contest will also mark the second time the Falcons have played in the title game in the last three years.
When playing in the tournament championship, Albertus holds an all-time record of 2-2 with wins in 1996 and 2010. The Falcons won the first-ever GNAC men's basketball title in 1995-96 and finished that season with a 14-12 overall record. In 2009-10, Albertus won the league title and went on to upset William Paterson for the Falcons' first-ever NCAA Tournament victory thanks to a buzzer beater by former basketball standout Bryon Reaves '11.
Anna Maria used back-to-back one-point victories to march into the title game. The AMCATS defeated Johnson & Wales 64-63 in quarterfinal action before edging Saint Joseph's College 60-59 in Thursday night's semifinal match-up in Standish, Maine. The AMCATS are in their first year with the GNAC as Saturday's game will be their first championship game appearance in GNAC play for any sport.
The Falcons are averaging 87.1 points per game this season, while shooting 48.7-percent from the field. Albertus holds a rebounding edge over its opponents, pulling down 1,126 total rebounds to its foes' 871.
Admission to Saturday's game is free to all fans.
