Johnson & Wales (R.I.) Wildcats Edge Falcons 74-72

Despite outscoring the Wildcats 51-47 in the second half, the Albertus Magnus men's basketball team fell to Johnson & Wales (R.I.) 74-72 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons finish the regular season with a 21-4 overall record and a 15-3 GNAC mark. Albertus will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming GNAC Tournament as the Falcons will host Rivier University on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 7:00 p.m.

The Falcons shot just 20.7% from the floor, a 6-of-29 clip, in the first half and went into the break down by six points at 27-21.

After shooting 45.7% in the second half, Albertus finished the day shooting 36.0% from the floor.

In the second half, the Falcons outscored the Wildcats 51-47.

JWU took its largest lead of the day at nine points with 19:49 in the second half. The Falcons' largest lead was six points, which they held in the opening frame.

Darius Watson (New Britain, Conn.) scored 21 points and pulled down 14 rebounds, including 11 on the defensive end. Freshman James Jennings (Stratford, Conn.) and senior Jefferson Lora (Bronx, N.Y.) both added 13 points, while Lora also recorded six rebounds and five blocked shots.
