James Jennings (Bridgeport, Conn.) finished with a game-high 26 points as the #12 Albertus Magnus men's basketball team picked up a 109-90 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory over Lasell College on Saturday afternoon in New Haven.
The win improves the Falcons' overall record to 13-1 and their GNAC mark to a perfect 8-0. The win also improves the Falcons' home-court win streak to 48 consecutive games. That mark is the longest active home-court winning streak in NCAA men's basketball (all levels).
The Falcons' 109 points also marks the 31st game in program history that Albertus has registered 100 points or more.
Jennings finished 8-of-11 from the field and 7-of-10 from behind the arc to lead the Falcons. Victor Ljuljdjuraj (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) added 24 points and 11 rebounds for his eighth double-double of the season.
The Falcons shot 64.3% (9-of-14) from behind the arc in the opening half as Jennings was 6-of-8 from three-point land to lead the Falcons with 19 first-half points.
Albertus shot an impressive 72.4% (21-of-29) from the field in the first half. Ljuljdjuraj was 4-of-4 from the floor in the first half as he contributed 11 points and seven boards in the opening 20 minutes of play.
Tavon Sledge (Spring Valley, N.Y.) added 13 first-half points to go along with seven assists in the frame. Sledge finished the game with 22 points and 11 assists.
Albertus finished the day 58.6% from the floor and 52.4% from behind the arc.
Eian Davis (Brooklyn, N.Y.) contributed 16 points and 10 assists for Albertus.
Lasell was led by Jamontay Thompson and Scott Arsenault with 13 points each, respectively. Lasell shot 46.5% from the field and 42.9% from three-point land. Lasell also out-rebounded the Falcons 38-35 and recorded 57 bench points.
The Falcons registered their largest lead of the day at the 15:25 mark of the second half when they led by 33.
Albertus returns to action on Monday when the Falcons host Rivier in a 3:00 p.m. contest in New Haven.
