Winthrop, Mass. – Albertus Magnus College freshman men's basketball player Jahmerikah Green-Younger (Norwalk, Conn.) was tabbed as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon as announced by the league office.
In the first conference weekly report of the winter, Green-Younger earned top rookie honors and Lasell's Armin Omanovic was named the Player of the Week.
Green-Youner had a solid debut for the Falcons, scoring 16 points in the season-opener against No. 3 Babson. Green-Younger hit three shots from three-point range and knocked down 5-of-6 from the free-throw line for Albertus Magnus. He filled out the stat sheet in his collegiate debut, grabbing three rebounds to go along with one assist and a pair of steals.
Green-Younger and the Falcons return to action on Tuesday, November 22, with a road non-conference showdown against Fitchburg State that is slated to begin at 6:00 pm in the Bay State. AMC is looking to avenge a 91-85 to FSU in the Elm City last December. The setback snapped an NCAA-best 59-game home winning streak for Albertus Magnus.
