Winthrop, Mass. - Sophomore Tyreek Perkins (New Haven, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team earned All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) honors as announced by the league office Monday morning.

Perkins, who earned Second Team honors, was most recently named to the GNAC All-Tournament Team after helping the Falcons capture their eighth GNAC Championship this past Saturday. On the year, Perkins averaged 13.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals per game for the Falcons. The sophomore guard knocked down 43.3 percent of shots from the field ranking him first on the team in scoring. He scored 20 or more points four times during the season, highlighted by a season-high 28 points at Western Connecticut State University.

In addition, sophomore Marquise Owens (Thorafare, N.J.) earned a spot on the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team. This season, Owens appeared in 18 games for the Falcons as well as averaged 3.4 points while shooting 40.7% from the floor and 36.2% from behind the arc.

The Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team is 20-7 on the year and will face Christopher Newport in the first-round of the NCAA Tournament.
