Men's Basketball Never Trails in 91-69 Win over Anna Maria

New Haven, Conn. - The Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team extended its winning streak to three as the Falcons defeated Anna Maria College, 91-69, in a home non-conference clash on Thursday evening at "The Nest" inside the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Falcons pulled away in the first five-plus minutes, taking a 17-4 advantage at the 14:44 mark. Jahmerikah Green-Younger (Norwalk, Conn.) led the charge during the early Albertus run, accounting for seven of the team's 17 points on a 3-pointer and two layups.

Albertus maintained its double-digit advantage until the 3:39 mark of the first half, when Ralph Grasso Jr. sank a trey to cut the deficit to eight, 33-25. The closest that Anna Maria would get for the remainder of the game was five points, 33-28, with 3:03 remaining in the stanza.

The Falcons answered the AMCATS' comeback by scoring 10 of the final 12 points of the first half to take a 43-30 lead into the break.

Green-Younger led the way for Albertus with 11 points over the first half in just 11 minutes of play. Justice Washington (Hamden, Conn.) was next on the team with eight points to go along with four boards.

Albertus would not let its lead dip below double digits for the remainder of the contest, growing its advantage to as high as 22 points, 91-69, tonight's final score.

In total, five different Falcons posted 10-plus points, led by Green-Younger with 16 and Washington and Davon Warner (New Haven, Conn.) with 14 each. Isaiah Lewis (New Haven, Conn.) and Terry Dawkins (Bronx, N.Y.) rounded out Albertus' top-five scorers with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Dawkins finished with a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds.
